2021 LoL World Championship to be Played in Five Chinese Cities
RIOT Games have announced that this year’s League of Legends World Championship will be held in five Chinese cities – Shanghai, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Shenzhen. Each of the cities will host one of the stages of the tournament.
It currently remains unknown whether the event will be held with live audience. The tournament’s final will take place on November 6th in Shenzhen at Universiade Sports Centre, a venue that can accommodate up to 60,000 visitors. Details on the other stages will be revealed at a later date.
Previous World Championship was also played in China, however due to quarantine restrictions the entire event was hosted in Shanghai. Despite the lockdown, RIOT Games were able to accommodate more than 6000 live spectators. Next year the tournament will return to North America.
