BLAST Fall Groups: G2 and NiP Win their First Matches in Group B

Group B of BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2021 has started without surprises, with both of the first series being won by the groups favourites – yesterday G2 Esports defeated MIBR, while Ninjas in Pyjamas outplayed BIG. Both matches ended with the 2-0 score.

Today the event will feature another two matches. The Upper Bracket Final is scheduled for 3:30 PM UK time, and the first match between G2 and NiP since June. Seeing how G2 underperformed at ESL Pro League 14, and how conversely NiP managed to play there rather well, it is hard to predict the results of this game.

Meanwhile the Lower Bracket Round 1 will begin on 6:30 PM. The teams have not faced each other this year, however BIG have been showing slightly better results lately, mainly by placing 7-8th at IEM XVI – Cologne, while MIBR finished 21st-24th there. For this reason, BIG are the clear favourites of the series.

Group B Bracket:

BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2021 is being played online from September 16th to 26th, with twelve teams playing in three GSL groups. Besides $150,000 of prize money, the teams also compete for six invites to the league’s Fall Finals. Earlier Team Vitality managed to place first in Group A after defeating Astralis (2-1) in its grand finals.
