Cloud9 Part Ways with their CS:GO Head Coach Kassad
Cloud9 have announced that Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović is no longer the head coach of their CS:GO roster. The official statement by the team’s manager Henry "HenryG" Greer indicates that the coach and the team’s in-game leader Alex "ALEX" McMeekin had different visions on the game, hence the decision to part ways with Kassad.
34-years-old Serbian Kassad started his coaching career back in 2014, and since then has worked with mousesports, Renegades, Valiance and 100 Thieves. He was one of the first members of the new Cloud9 team, which was formed this September. The coach has promised to share his future plans in the coming days.
The new roster of Cloud9 has been struggling to find its game since its inceptions, with the team’s biggest achievements being the 3rd – 4th place at BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown and the 5 – 8th finish at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe. Despite lackluster results, the team was invited to the Play-In Stage of the $1,000,000 event IEM Katowice 2021, which will be held on February 16th – 28th.
