Edward Gaming Win LPL Summer 2021

For the first time since 2018, Edward Gaming managed to qualify for World Championship – the team placed first at LPL Summer 2021 after defeating FunPlus Phoenix in its grand finals. In addition to the spot at the Worlds, the team also claimed $310,000 in prize money.

Edward Gaming started the playoffs with a loss to Team WE (2-3), dropping to the lower bracket. There they defeated LNG Esports (3-1) and avenged WE (3-0). The final series concluded with a 3-1 score.

Playoffs Bracket:

Despite losing in the finals, FPX will still compete at 2021 Worlds thanks to acquiring enough points throughout the season. Meanwhile Royal Never Give Up have also secured their place at the event by winning LPL Regional Finals 2021. The final representative of the Chinese region will be determined by the final series of the regional finals, where Team WE will face either LNG Esports or Rare Atom – the series will be played on September 5th, 10:30 AM UK time. Its winner will qualify for the Worlds Play-In stage.
