EG and VP Are First to Leave Funspark Ulti 2020

Evil Geniuses and Virtus.pro have become the first two teams to be eliminated from Funspark Ulti 2020. Sharing the 7th – 8th place, each of the teams received $5,000 in prize money.

Evil Geniuses, who recently updated their roster by replacing Tarik "tarik" Celik with Michał "MICHU" Müller, failed to win a single map during the event. First, they lost to Dignats, and yesterday were defeated by BIG.

Virtus.pro seemed to be on the roll just few months ago, when they emerged victorious at FLASHPOINT 2 and became the runner-ups of IEM XV – World Championship. Recently, however, the team hasn’t been looking so well – this month they left ESL Pro League 13 after just two rounds. At Funspark Ulti, the team was upset by forZe (2-0) and HAVU Gaming (1-2).

Later today the event will feature the second round of the lower bracket – first, Dinitas will face HAVU (1:00 PM UK Time), and then Complexity will compete with BIG (4:30 PM). The upper bracket final with forZe and Extra Salt will be played tomorrow, on April 24th.

Funspark ULTI 2020 is an online event with $250,000 at stake. The tournament will conclude on April 27th. Its’ best two teams will advance to the league’s next competition.
