FaZe Clan Wins IEM Chengdu 2024
On the evening of April 14th, the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 concluded.
The tournament final featured MOUZ, who topped Group A, and FaZe Clan, who finished third in Group B. On their way to the final, MOUZ only needed to play one game, in which they fiercely defeated G2 Esports with a score of 2:1 (13:8 on Nuke, 7:13 on Ancient, and 13:10 on Overpass).
FaZe Clan started their playoff journey from the quarterfinals, defeating Team Liquid with a score of 2:1 and then Astralis (2:1).
The Best-of-3 grand final kicked off with an Overpass pick from MOUZ, but FaZe Clan proved stronger (13:10) and took the lead in the final series. MOUZ tried to fight back on Nuke, but ultimately lost their opponent's pick with a score of 6:13, resulting in a 0:2 series defeat.
For FaZe Clan, this victory marked their fourth since switching from CS:GO to Counter-Strike 2. Winning IEM Chengdu 2024 earned the team not only $100,000 but also a direct invite to IEM Cologne 2024.
The next event for both FaZe Clan and MOUZ will be the ESL Pro League Season 19, with matches starting on April 23.
