Playoffs of IEM Katowice 2024 to Take Place on a New Patch

Organizers of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024 have commented on the release of a global patch in Counter-Strike 2 and how it will affect the tournament.

According to ESL, after collecting feedback from players and conducting their own tests, it was decided to conduct matches of IEM Katowice 2024 on the new patch of the game, which was released after the completion of the group stage.

The patch, released on the night of February 6-7, has changed several gameplay aspects of Counter-Strike 2. These include changes to the sub-tick system and nerfing the advantage of a peeking player.

The playoffs of IEM Katowice 2024 will take place in Poland from February 9 to 11. Six teams will compete in a single-elimination playoff format, and the schedule of matches is available here.
