Azure Ray Secures a Spot at The International 2023
On August 21st in China, the first qualifiers for The International 2023 concluded. As a result, 13 out of the 20 TI participants are now known.
Azure Ray advanced to the grand finals through the upper bracket, successively defeating Team Bright, Invictus Gaming, and Xtreme Gaming. Xtreme Gaming emerged as the second finalist, having beaten Team Zero in the lower bracket and earning a chance for a rematch against Azure Ray in a best-of-5 grand final.
The final series kicked off with a win for Azure Ray, but Xtreme Gaming quickly evened the score. Following this, Azure Ray clinched 2 consecutive maps without significant resistance from their opponents, with the final games lasting 36 and 29 minutes respectively.
Azure Ray joins Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra Esports, 9Pandas, Evil Geniuses, PSG.LGD, Shopify Rebellion, Talon Esports, beastcoast, Team Spirit, TSM, and BB Team, all of whom have qualified for The International 2023 through the DPC.
