Flamie out of NAVI after Six Years with the Team
Natus Vincere have announced that Egor "flamie" Vasilev is no longer part of their CS:GO roster. Despite becoming a free agent, he will play for the team’s Junior squad at the upcoming WePlay Academy League Season 2.
The organization’s CCO Oleksiy "xaoc" Kucherov explained that they decided to make flamie a free agent since they do not see a way to use him this season due to the RMR-rules that penalize for using more than five players. He will compete in the WePlay event in order to get some practice and share his experience with younger players.
Flamie, who is now 24-years-old, has been playing for Natus Vincere since 2015. During this time, the team participated in twelve majors, placing second at three of them. Among the biggest accomplishments are their first places at StarSeries CSGO Season 7, IEM XIV – World Championship, and BLAST Premier: Global Final 2020.
In late 2020, NAVI started replacing flamie on some maps with Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi from the Junior squad. This spring he was benched due to the changes to the rules for RMR-events, which introduced penalties for having more than five players in a roster.
NAVI have been on a winning streak for the last few months, emerging victorious at StarLadder CIS RMR 2021, IEM XVI – Cologne, and ESL Pro League 14, as well as claiming Intel Grand Slam Season 3.
