Four Players Leave DAMWON Gaming

DAMWON Gaming’s roster, which just recently placed second at 2021 World Championship, is falling apart. The organization has announced that three players – Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, Heo "ShowMaker" Su, and Cho "BeryL" Geon-hee have become free agents following the expiration of their contracts. On top of that, the team parted ways with Kim "Khan" Dong-ha.

The organization’s statement reads that they respect the wishes of Canyon, ShowMaker and BeryL to become free agents. However, the club wants these players to continue playing for their roster. For this reason, currently they are negotiating signing new contracts with them. At the same time there are no plans of keeping Khan in the line-up.

Previous season was extremely successful for DAMWON Gaming, who managed to win both splits of LCK and placed 2nd at Mid-Season Invitational 2021. On top of that, recently they became runners-ups of Worlds 2021 – there they finished first in Group A with a 6-0 score, and later outplayed MAD Lions (3-0) and T1 (3-2) in the playoffs. In the grand finals they faced Edward Gaming and even had a 2-1 lead, however then lost the series with a 2-3 score.
