Gen.G Put Their CS:GO Roster on Transfer List

The esports organization Gen.G has decided to put the remainder of their CS:GO roster, including players Timothy "autimatic" Ta, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, and Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand, as well as their coach Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit, on a transfer list. The organization allowed them to seek new offers into 2021 and is ready to waive buyouts if they are willing to transfer somewhere.

Gen.G opened their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive division in late 2019, signing the core of former Cloud9 roster – automatic, koosta and Damian "daps" Steele. Eventually the roster was finalized by Sam "s0m" Oh from Team Envy and BnTeT from TyLoo. The team won DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020 in February and later became one of the founding members of FLASHPOINT League, placing 5-6th in its first season. Besides that, the team emerged victorious at ESL One: Road to Rio – NA.

This fall however the team parted ways with two players, as daps willingly stepped down from the active roster and s0m left the team to transition to VALORANT. To participate in FLASHPOINT’s second season, the team brought in two Swedish players, Richard "Xizt" Landström and Rasmus "kreaz" Johansson – with them they placed 9-10th at the event.

However, the reason behind putting the roster on transfer is not the declining results, but rather the overall situation in the CS:GO scene. Gen.G are not quite ready to announce that they are leaving CS:GO, however the organization is “evaluating its options”. Koosta and Elmapuddy already announced that they are going to continue their CS:GO careers, while Autimatic will try out VALORANT but prefers to stay in CS:GO. BnTeT has not commented on the issue.
