Playing with two replacements, OG have managed to upset TSM on their way to become the first North American team to win a Dota 2 major. In the grand finals of ESL One Stockholm 2022 OG defeated TSM with a 3-1 score, claiming $200,000 in prize money.
Due to the visa issues, two Russian members of OG – their captain Mikhail "Misha" Agatov and coach Evgenii "Chuvash" Makarov were replaced by the team’s former members Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and Johan "N0tail" Sundstein. The team finished the group stage with a 3-1-2 score, placing 2nd and advancing to the upper bracket.
In the very first playoffs match OG were defeated by TSM (0-2), thus they dropped to the lower bracket. There they had to win five series in a row – the managed to outplay BOOM (2-0), Fnatic (2-1), Thunder (2-0), Gaimin Gladiators (2-0) and Tundra (2-0). In the grand finals they lost the first map, but won the following three in a row.
ESL One Stockholm 2022 was held from May 12th to 22nd in Stockholm, Sweden, at Hovet Arena. The tournament’s prize pool was set at $500,000 and 3,530 DPC-points. The champions claimed $200,000 and 680 points.
