T1 Release Two Coaches Halfway through LCK Summer 2021
Seemingly out of nowhere, T1 have terminated contracts of two coaches for their League of Legends roster – Yang "Daeny" Dae-in and Lee "Zefa" Jae-min. To replace them, organization has promoted Kim "Moment" Ji-hwan (former academy coach) and Son "Stardust" Seok-hee (former assistant coach).
T1’s general manager Choi Polt Seong-hun explained that it was his decision to release the coaches due to the team’s unsatisfactory results. The players were unaware of this change until this Tuesday, and were surprised to find it out. Currently the organization expects the team to finish the season with Moment and Stardust as their coaches and has no plans to look for additional staff.
Both Daeny and Zefa joined T1 last November, right after they helped Suning to win Worlds 2020. This year T1 placed 4th in the spring split, and are currently in the middle of the pack in the summer split with a 5-5 score. The team still has eight matches to play.
