WePlay to Host the Next Dota 2 Major in Kyiv in June

The Ukrainian tournament organizer WePlay Esports has announced that they will host the next Dota 2 major event in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The event is called WePlay AniMajor and scheduled for June 2nd – 13th and will be held without live audience.

Following the suit of ONE Esports Singapore Major 201, this year’s second major will also feature $500,000 in prize money and 2700 DPC points up for grabs. The tournament’s line-up will consist of 18 teams – while most regional DPC leagues are concluding later this week, we already know three participants of the major – Alliance and Virtus.pro will start the event in the playoffs stage, while Team Spirit will begin in the groups.

WePlay are not new to hosting official Dota 2 events – earlier in 2020 they successfully hosted a minor event WePlay! Bukovel. It will also be a second major Dota 2 event for the Ukrainian capital – earlier Kyiv hosted a major in 2017.
